Irish people support quarantine
The public want people travelling to Ireland to be forced to quarantine in a hotel for two weeks at their own expense, a new poll has revealed.
The study also found that 85% of those asked said they would take current and new vaccines if they are shown to be safe and effective.
And 70% believe pubs and restaurants should not be reopened until most of the population have been vaccinated 86%.
The findings of the Red C poll for the Sunday Business Post which shows that 86% of the public want a 14-day quarantine period in a hotel at their own expense for travellers arriving into Ireland will increase the pressure on authorities to impose stricter measures.
The Government is introducing limited measures which would force some travellers to stay in hotels for two weeks at their own expense – depending on where they came from – but has stopped short of introducing measures that would require all those entering the country to go into quarantine.
